2B Speer Reaches Agreement with Unforgiven

Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today's deal that brought 30-year-old second baseman Mark Speer to Phoenix.
Speer is considered one of the league's A-list players and certainly will enhance any chances the Unforgiven have to win a playoff spot this year.
Over his career Speer has batted .279 and collected 1378 hits, 40 home runs and 464 RBIs.

Starting Pitcher Doug Murphy Lands in Brooklyn

Brooklyn and Doug Murphy have reached an agreement bringing the 38-year-old starting pitcher to the Hoodrats for 1 year.
Murphy reportedly signed a deal worth $6,500,000, although the financials were not disclosed to the media.
Murphy has a lifetime ERA of 3.85 with a record of 131 wins and 105 losses. He also has struck out 1452 batters in 2221.2 innings and allowed 2241 hits.
