Adam's Treatment Not Going Well, Suffers Setback
Saturday, September 28th , 2024
Boston Red Sox reliever Jason Adam got another setback today. His doctors informed him that his injury was not responding to treatment as well as they hoped and that he would need more time to rehabilitate. If all goes well, they expect Adam to be ready to go within 2 weeks. He told BNN, "I didn't expect a dead arm to take this long to heal."
In 23 relief appearances in 2024, Adam has nailed down the victory 1 times for his club. In 26.2 innings he has fanned 24 batters and walked 15. His won-lost record is 0-2 with a 4.05 ERA.

Nationals End Bohm Streak
Friday, September 27th , 2024
The Washington Nationals got more than the 4-0 victory at Nationals Park -- they also put an end to the 27-game hitting streak of Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats.
After the game, Bohm seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak.
"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."
At the moment, Bohm is hitting .346 with 12 home runs and 59 RBIs. He has played in 134 games and scored 63 times.

Los Angeles Captures Wild Card

Winning a World Series is no easy task. Winning it as a wild card is even more challenging.
But the Los Angeles Dodgers are up for the challenge.
"If we get hot at the right time, it will be tough to stop us," said left fielder Yordan Alvarez as he celebrated his team's wild card berth. "I think we've got the players and coaches to make it happen."
With their record sitting at 86-73, the Dodgers will indeed have a challenge ahead if they hope to win the 8th World Series in team history.
