Muckdogs Trip Roadrunners, 6-5, in Extra Innings
|
The timely hitting of Edward Schachter helped the Batavia Muckdogs down the Phoenix Roadrunners, 6-5. Schachter was 2-6 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Muckdogs. Gerald Tura, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits. Earning his 1st save of the year was Brendan Fruth.
Wade Cummins drew 1 walk in 2 trips to the plate for Batavia. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the top of the 12th. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Theodore Blume. It was his 13th walk of the season.
"We had a chance to win," said Phoenix manager Skyler Amason, "but we didn't get it done."
The slumping Roadrunners have dropped 10 in a row.
