Fading Bats Lose 6th Straight
|
Jakob Hilliard was outstanding against Washington. The left-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the IL with a 5 quality starts, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Roadrunners 2-1 win. The Bats, 11-21, continue their poor start to the 2060 campaign.
Dwight Bell, the three-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bell contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Phoenix up, 2-1.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Washington manager Pat Fiume, "let me know."
