California Makes It 7 Straight with 2-0 Win
|
The California Kodiaks earned a win at In-N-Out Field, stopping the Phoenix Roadrunners, 2-0. Starting pitcher Charlie Spence played a big role in his team's success. California reliever Kel Ingle picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Gerold Lentz absorbed the loss. The Roadrunners, now 5-11, continue their poor start.
Greg Thomas was the walk-off hero for California. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Kodiaks first baseman hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said Louie Sumski, the California manager.
