He may have less experience than most of his Tundra Futures League peers, but that didn't slow Larry Hennon down at all in 2040.
At the age of 21, the Petersburg third baseman has been named the winner of the Western Conference Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .524 batting average and a .595 on-base percentage this year. In 58 games he piled up 131 hits, 21 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs, 53 RBIs and 66 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 16. Alex Guzman of the Nome Polar Bears finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while John Tennyson of the Sitka Huskies finished third.
