The Gillette Bison, behind a great outing from Jiminy Crockett, who finished 2nd in the PC in saves with 18 in 2038, defeated the Billings Bighorns, 2-1, at Custers Last Stand. Crockett yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-0. Ricky Bedoya earned his 15th save in 18 chances.
Kyle Wack, who finished 5th in the PC in doubles with 24 in 2036, had a direct impact on the outcome. Wack contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Gillette up, 2-0.
"Runs were at a premium," said Gillette manager Larry Venturini.
The Bighorns, now 43-39, have lost 4 straight.
