Coeur d'Alene Pockets 6-1 Win Over Pocatello
The Coeur d'Alene Striking Miners downed the Pocatello Old Timers, 6-1, at Miners Field. Stellar pitching by Finlay Murphy had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is a two-time All-Star, handcuffed his opponent all game. Murphy yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-2. Geoff Collins closed it out for his 1st save.

Brian Campbell had a big 3-run home run for the Striking Miners in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Coeur d'Alene leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a cutter from Vernon Lummis, who finished 5th in the PC in ERA with 2.42 in 2038, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Striking Miners on top, 6-1.

"We did a lot of things right," said Campbell.

With the win, the Striking Miners sit at 38-32.
