Fighting Chinooks Handle Bremerton, Snag 4-1 Win
The Astoria Fighting Chinooks stopped the Bremerton Admirals, 4-1, at The FIsherman's Quay. The Fighting Chinooks got a big game from Mike Petts, who went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Brian Craven was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 10 save opportunities. Astoria, now 26-35, holds down last place in the Western Conference Cascadia Division.

The Admirals had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Fighting Chinooks going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old right fielder Mark Rasmussen came to the plate. Rasmussen hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Bremerton hurler David Rosenberg. It was Rasmussen's 16th double of the year.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Rasmussen said.
