Bombs Away: Weaver Slams 4 Homers
Fans at Provident Bank Park won't soon forget the raw display of power put on by Schaumburg Boomers first baseman Jerry Weaver today. Weaver smashed 4 home runs in Schaumburg's 15-10 victory over the New York Boulders.

"To be honest with you, I have never even thought about hitting this many home runs in a game," Weaver said to reporters after the game. "Only legends hit this many home runs in a game and I ain't no legend."

In his history-making performance, Weaver victimized New York hurlers for 4 hits in 6 at-bats with 4 runs scored and 6 RBIs.

"What he did was unbelievable," said New York manager Dallas Poulk. "My guys gave it their best, but he hit some fine pitches. He was like -- he was in automatic home run mode today. He just had that great swing. It didn't matter what we threw him. It was gone."

Jerry Weaver hit a two-run home run off Pat Robison in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dusty Allen Jr. in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Richard de Leon in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Phil Freedman in the 9th.

During the current season Weaver is batting at a .369 clip with 43 home runs and 99 RBIs. He has played in 77 games and scored 67 times.
