2B Barron Agrees to $39,000,000, 3-Year Offer from Port Huron
Sunday, April 5th , 2009
Port Huron announced the signing of second baseman Brian Barron earlier today, ending speculation on who they would acquire to fill the void at that position.
Barron will earn $13,000,000 per year, and will be with the club for 3 years.

Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Mayes Hayes

Willie Mayes Hayes collected 2 hits in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. His club, the Detroit Stars, beat the Colon Conjurers, 12-8.
"Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Mayes Hayes quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking."
Willie Mayes Hayes singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.
This season, Mayes Hayes is batting at a .607 clip with no home runs and 3 RBIs.

Dover Slams 3 Deep for New York

New York Fancy Rats bombardier Troy Dover set his sights on the stands and blasted three balls over the fence as his club beat the Buffalo Bison, 9-5.
"I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one," Dover told writers in the postgame press room. "I was ahead in the count, so I gambled that I'd get a certain pitch, and got all of it."
For the game, the New York left fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs.
Troy Dover hit a solo-shot off Nate Uncapher in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Nate Uncapher in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Caleb Cantrell in the 5th and struck out in the 7th.
Looking at his present stats, Dover has compiled a .353 batting average in 5 games with a .421 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 7 runs.
