Brooklyn Downs Norwich, 2-1
|
Starting pitcher Adam Schlenker fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Brooklyn Spiders stymie the Norwich Sea Unicorns, 2-1. With the win, the Spiders sit at 49-25.
Brooklyn used the hitting of Jose Cardona to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Spiders on top, 2-0. For the game, Cardona had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Jeff Walczak.
