Montminy Raps Sheldon for 5 Hits Monday, August 31st , 2093 At Ballpark of Land OLakes, Michael Montminy of the Land OLakes Golden Boys put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and mauled the Sheldon Ricochets pitching staff, but Land OLakes still came up short on the scoreboard. The Golden Boys went home with the 6-5 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their third baseman. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Montminy said in the postgame interview. Michael Montminy doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jon Edelstein in the 9th and struck out in the 10th. Thus far this season, Montminy is hitting .312 with 10 home runs, 32 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has 86 hits in 276 at-bats and has played in 68 games. |
