Campbell Latest HOF Legend Wednesday, January 2nd , 2086 Chet Campbell, a standout first baseman throughout his Over The Mound career, has been inducted into the Hall of Fame in his 6th attempt. During the induction ceremony, he credited the coaches who taught him to play the game and the teammates who taught him to be a professional. However, the most important influence, Campbell said, was his father. "Pops never gave up on me," he said, "no matter how often I felt like giving up on myself. In his 2422-game career, Campbell hit .296 with 2511 hits, 123 home runs, 1378 runs scored and 906 RBIs. He wrapped up his career at the age of 42 and retired, hanging up his cleats in 2077. |
