The San Francisco Breakers defeated the Portland Beavers, 6-2, at Breakers Park today. Leading the charge for San Francisco was second baseman Carlos Rios. He was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Robby Milton, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 6.2 innings. The defeat makes Portland 1-8.

Rios had a key at-bat for San Francisco early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave San Francisco an early 4-0 lead.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Rios told the San Francisco Gazette.
