Stone Jr. Helps Dark Horses Defeat Tourists, 6-3
With right fielder Curt Stone Jr. leading the charge, the Austin Dark Horses defeated the Asheville Tourists, 6-3, at Austin Hippodrome. Stone Jr. went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Jeremy Lutz, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-0. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Brad Cobb earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.

With Austin leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Stone Jr. hit a 2-run single off Asheville hurler Nick Farrell. It was the 8th hit of the season for Stone Jr. and put his team ahead, 4-1.

"We've got a great group of guys," Stone Jr. said, "and we're having fun right now."

The Dark Horses, now 5-2, have hit the ground running this season.
