Red-Hot Ninja Black Sox Win Again

Blacksox Ballpark was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
Boston pitcher Ollie Larson did his part in helping his team defeat the New York Gothams, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Larson got the win, improving to 4-5. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Jerry Holmes collected his 8th save.
Luis Montano had a big solo home run for the Ninja Black Sox in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from John Purkis, who is tied for 5th in the EL in strikeouts with 66, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Ninja Black Sox on top, 2-0.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Larson.
With the victory, the Ninja Black Sox upped their record to 33-33.
