Gothams Rally Late to Clip Mexican Hat
The New York Gothams downed the Mexican Hat Wild Burros, 2-1, at Polo Grounds. Stellar pitching by Roy Ray had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. New York reliever Harley Spottswood snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Hugh Barnes shouldered the loss. New York, with the win, is 6-1.

New York took a 2-1 lead on Arnold Cosman's 3rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Cosman hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Mexican Hat pitcher Hugh Barnes visibly frustrated.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Cosman.
