The home crowd had a good time watching the Providence Reds and New York Gothams get after it.

Pitcher John Purkis was sensational for the New York Gothams in his team's 3-0 triumph over the Providence Reds. Purkis earned the win. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Gothams.

Purkis worked his mojo for New York. The hard-throwing right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings of work.
