Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at McNearney Stadium.

The 7-5 Mexican Hat win over Schenectady was due largely to T.J. Coslett. The Wild Burros first baseman went 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Mexican Hat raised its record to 78-75 with the win.

Mexican Hat used the timely hitting of Norm Caldwell to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Wild Burros on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Schenectady manager Gerhard Trippel.
