Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Schenectady Blue Jays and Pittsburgh River Bandits.

Schenectady Blue Jays starter Justin Pillar kept the Pittsburgh River Bandits hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-1 win. The win for the Blue Jays lifted their record to 81-67.

Schenectady first baseman Dave Friedman helped the Blue Jays go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Friedman hit a run-scoring single off Pittsburgh pitcher Frank Charron.

"Justin's as tough as he is talented," said Schenectady manager Gerhard Trippel.
