Austin third baseman Carlos Vera helped his team beat the Portland Beavers, 6-2. Vera, who is the 7th-best prospect in the Dark Horses organization, went 4 for 4 for the Dark Horses. The Dark Horses sit in second place in the Western League Duffy Division with a record of 27-24.

Early in the game, Vera had a solo home run for Austin. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Dark Horses on top, 1-0.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Vera told the Austin Observer.
