Beavers Defeat Grizzlies, 9-4
|
The Portland Beavers needed 11 innings to defeat the Chicago Grizzlies, 9-4, at Bill Veeck Park. Portland third baseman Jason Parker had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Portland raised its record to 26-22 with the win.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Parker delivered big-time for Portland, stroking a dramatic bases-clearing double off Dustin Karklins. The game-changing hit put the Beavers on top, 7-4.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Parker.
