Blue Jays Earn Late Win
The Asheville Tourists got a whale of a performance from pitcher Gary Howard, but the Schenectady Blue Jays still prevailed, 5-4, in 13 innings. Howard threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner in relief was Phil Lukasik. He is now 1-3. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The third-place Tourists now sit at 24-21.

Schenectady needed the clutch hitting of Javy Carrasco to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 5-4. For the game, Carrasco had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
