Behind the hitting of Efrain Diaz, the Chicago Grizzlies stopped the Guelph Royals, 6-2. Diaz hit 2 home runs for the Grizzlies. Matt Jennings earned the save for Chicago, his 1st.

With Chicago leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Diaz hit a fastball from Enrique Vázquez for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Grizzlies ahead, 3-1.

Diaz attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
