The Guelph Royals went home winners at Royal City Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Wally Bell. Bell stifled the Lowell Knights, enabling Guelph to grab the 6-0 win. Bell, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. The Royals have an impressive 30-13 record.

Bryant Fish had a big 3-run home run for the Royals in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Guelph leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Leonardo Cuevas, who finished 4th in the EL in strikeouts with 180 in 2083, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 4-0.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Jason Cary. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
