Breakers Nip Gothams, 5-4
|
The San Francisco Breakers did just enough to secure a victory over the New York Gothams, 5-4, at Breakers Park. Nobody did more than center fielder Jerry Shaw. The winner was Artie Roberson in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Jerry Brewer took the loss. The current losing streak for New York has reached 4 games.
The game came to a sudden end. In the bottom of the 13th, with two out, Shaw drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave San Francisco the 5-4 walk-off win.
"There's no quit in this team," said Breakers manager Jeff Pascarella Jr..
