The Evansville Otters picked up a win at Otters Stadium, topping the Austin Dark Horses, 6-2. On the mound for Evansville was right-hander Jerry Miccio. He played a principal role in the triumph. Miccio, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Kumanosuke Matsui closed it out for Evansville, earning his 4th save.

Tom Tyrrel hit a 2-run double off Doug Scott in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Otters in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Tyrrel had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
