Grizzlies Stun Royals, 5-3

The Chicago Grizzlies faced a tough opponent in Guelph pitcher Wally Bell, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Royal City Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Bell went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Reliever Jon Ortiz picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Brad Cobb took the loss. Hal Chapman picked up the save, his 2nd.
Chicago used a clutch hit from Rafael Davila to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I like our mindset right now," said Chicago manager Gary Osborn.
Chicago, now 11-4, has played well in the early going.
