Blue Jays Deal Tourists 7-5 Defeat
|
Schenectady and Asheville duked it out and the Blue Jays came out victorious.
The Schenectady Blue Jays weathered a fine game by Asheville left fielder Tony Ramos to upend the Tourists, 7-5, at Azalea Park. Ramos went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. J.J. Reed earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 6-3.
Schenectady used the timely hitting of Dave Friedman to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Friedman.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Blue Jays.
