Victory Pushes Ninja Black Sox Record to 8-6

The Boston Ninja Black Sox picked up a win at Blacksox Ballpark, courtesy of Rubén Pérez. The right-hander helped his team stop the Asheville Tourists, 2-0. Doug Hayes finished the game for Boston and earned his 3rd save. Boston goes to 8-6.
Matt Ashford had a big solo home run for the Ninja Black Sox in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a sinker from John Santo and swatted a home run to left. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ninja Black Sox ahead, 2-0.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Ashford.
