The Detroit Diesel and Tri-City ValleyCats provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Tri-City ValleyCats racked up a win at William "Rip" Rowan Park, bumping off the Detroit Diesel, 7-6. Matthew Lefebvre, who started for Tri-City, pitched effectively for his team. Lefebvre got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 3 runs.

Ben Reed went 1-3 for Tri-City. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kyle Gutshall. It was his 9th RBI of the season.

"Matthew did a heck of a job," said Tri-City manager Seth Butynski.

The win has Tri-City at 5-9.
