Bombers Defeat Grizzlies in 10
|
The Bryan Bombers defeated the Chicago Grizzlies, 7-6, in 10 innings. Much of the credit belonged to left fielder Dave Martinez, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Bombers. The win belonged to Jordan Martinez in relief. His record improves to 4-6. Jeff Gonzalez took the loss for Chicago. Tony Rios recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 2 for 2.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Martinez delivered big-time for Bryan, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Tim Thompson. The game-changing hit put the Bombers on top, 7-6.
In postgame remarks, Martinez said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
The setback makes Chicago 70-59.
