Goldeyes Bridle Otters, 2-1
|
The Winnipeg Goldeyes got a magnificent effort from pitcher Mike Leal, who kept Evansville hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Goldeyes win at Shaw Park. The winning pitcher was Leal, now 10-10. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 2. Winnipeg has now won 5 games in a row.
In the bottom of the fifth, Winnipeg left fielder Ryan Crismon had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Crismon stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, Winnipeg. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Winnipeg manager David Jones.
