Pennant Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Lowell Knights and Detroit Diesel.
Lowell Knights starter Ed Moraine was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Detroit Diesel, 4-3. Gil Guerin, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits.
Jeff McDaniel provided some late-game drama. In the bottom of the eighth, with two out and the bases loaded, McDaniel hit a run-scoring single. It helped Lowell take the lead and grab the win.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Moraine.
The Diesel, now 4-9, continue their poor start.
