Mancha Rips 2 Home Runs in 10-4 River Bandits Triumph
River Bandits designated hitter Jose Mancha left his mark on his team's 10-4 win over the Portland Beavers. Mancha, who finished 2nd in the EL in extra base hits with 69 in 2089, was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Pittsburgh in the contest. Willie Acevez got credit for the win, improving to 2-9. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings. Pittsburgh is now 63-53, while Portland is 49-67.

With Pittsburgh trailing 4-3 in the top of the fifth, Mancha hit a fastball from Mark Nash for a 3-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the River Bandits ahead, 6-4.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Mancha told the Pittsburgh Times.
