The Guelph Royals picked up a win at Royal City Stadium, knocking off the Bryan Bombers, 4-3. On the mound for Guelph was left-hander Wally Bell, who played a pivotal role in the win. Bell got the win, improving to 8-8. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Bell allowed 2 runs. The win gives Guelph a season record of 61-51.
Luis Manuel Díaz, who finished 2nd in the WL in extra base hits with 71 in 2080, helped out the Guelph cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 1-4.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Díaz told the Guelph Daily News.
