Detroit designated hitter Matthew Hidalgo helped his team beat the Pittsburgh River Bandits, 12-3. Hidalgo, who is tied for 4th in the EL in bases on balls with 60, went 3 for 5 for the Diesel. Detroit currently is in last place in the Eastern League Heinhsohn Division at 41-70.

The Diesel got a big hit from catcher Manny Hinojosa. In the bottom of the fifth, Hinojosa pounded a 2-run double to center. His 9th double of the season put the Diesel ahead, 4-1.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Hidalgo said after the game.
