Breakers Fall Short, 5-4, at Winnipeg
|
The Winnipeg Goldeyes overcame a good performance by San Francisco right fielder Jimmy Clarke to knock off San Francisco, 5-4, at Shaw Park. Clarke was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jerry Powell earned the save for Winnipeg, his 2nd of the year. The Breakers, at 67-41, have lost 5 straight games.
Reynaldo De Jesús had a productive trip to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the second inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he grounded out, driving in 1 run, helping Winnipeg to the win.
"It's good to win," De Jesús told the Winnipeg Daily. "I like to have fun doing it."
