Bob Ramírez Injured, Out for Season

Bob Ramírez of the Cubs just might have to call it quits for the season. The 32-year-old Iowa starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Round Rock Express recently at Principal Park. Ramírez suffered a torn labrum while throwing a pitch. The Cubs medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 12 months.
On the year Ramírez has worked 43 innings with 30 strikeouts en route to a 2-4 record and 3.35 ERA.

Jones Magic in 6-0 Shutout

The Quebec Capitales rolled to an easy 6-0 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes at Stade Canac today. Leading the way to victory was starter Jim Jones, who shackled the Albuquerque Isotopes and held them scoreless on a 4-hitter.
"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Jones said in his postgame press conference.
Thus far this season Jones has saved 0 games. His won-lost mark is 11 wins and 5 losses with 156 strikeouts in 145.2 innings, along with a 3.65 ERA.
