Bad Behavior Costs Martín and Carroll

Yesterday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park Oscar Martín and Jimmy Carroll got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Durham Bulls and Bakersfield Badgers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Martín will have to sit out 3 while Carroll would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
For the season, Martín is currently batting .265 with 4 home runs and 25 RBIs. In 35 games he has reached base at a .317 rate and scored 25 runs to date.
In 17 starts this year, Carroll has crafted a 8-8 record and a 5.46 ERA.
