Ottawa-Vernon Fight Results in Suspensions Friday, August 26th , 2078 Yesterday at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park Pelé Rios and Josue Marín got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Ottawa Lynx and Vernon Tigers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Rios will have to sit out 4 while Marín would be given a 8-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Rios on the season is hitting .276 with 7 home runs. His stats include 47 RBIs and 44 runs scored. Up to now Marín has recorded a record of 10-11. In 24 starts he has fanned 148 batters in 185 innings with a 3.45 ERA. |
