20-Game Streak Ends, Romero Hitless Saturday, August 19th , 2023 Portland Sea Dogs second baseman Mikey Romero finally met his Waterloo. A 20-game hitting spree is now history after Romero was unable to make anything happen in 4 at-bats today against the Montgomery Biscuits. Fortunately for Romero and the Sea Dogs, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 3-2. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 20 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." This year Romero is batting .308 with 24 home runs and 126 RBIs. In 121 games he has scored 112 times. |
