Red-Hot Cedeño Scorches Braves Monday, June 19th , 2023 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. José Cedeño of the Akron RubberDucks had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 14-1 win over the Rome Braves at State Mutual Stadium. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 18-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." José Cedeño singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. This season Cedeño is batting .313 with 8 home runs. He has scored 39 runs and driven in 37. |
