He may have less experience than most of his Baseball Premier Jr. League peers, but that didn't slow Stephen Paolini down at all in 2023.
At the age of 22, the Hamburg left fielder has been named the winner of the Baseball Premier Jr. League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .390 batting average and a .485 on-base percentage this year. In 163 games he piled up 216 hits, 31 doubles, 5 triples, 26 home runs, 112 RBIs and 111 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Iverson Leonardo of the Birmingham Swamp Dogs finished second in voting, while Devonte Brown of the Gijón Musketeers finished third.

Herhard Wins Award for BPJL Dominance

At the age of 17, Christian Herhard says he still has a lot to learn about life in Baseball Premier Jr. League.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Nantes Samurai reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2023 Baseball Premier Jr. League Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Altstätten, Switzerland native said.
For the season, Herhard had 6 saves in 69 relief appearances, which totaled 72. He fanned 74 betters, while walking 19 and put up a record of 4-4 to go with his 2.38 ERA.
He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Kas de Jong of the Dublin Volts finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Wu-shiun Thum of the Hamburg Battle Kings finished third.
