Mitsuyoshi Nishimoto Takes MVP Trophy

The future looks extremely bright for Mitsuyoshi Nishimoto. At the age of 20, many players are still trying to find their way in World Baseball Championship U20.
Nishimoto has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the World Baseball Championship U20 Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .475 this year, that's for sure," the first baseman said.
The Japan star also put up a .613 on-base percentage this year, with 28 hits, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs, 8 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 20. Kimi Matsushita of the Japan finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Hideji Watanabe of the Japan finished third.
