Jeff Edwards Out for 10-11 Months

Playoff hopes of Saints player Jeff Edwards have been dealt a blow today after tests revealed the starting pitcher suffered a stretched elbow ligament throwing a pitch in today's game against Lincoln Saltdogs. Edwards is expected to miss up to 10-11 months, effectively ruling him out of the playoffs.
To date this season Edwards sports a 5-5 mark with a 3.41 ERA in 11 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .248 batting average and has 59 strikeouts in 89.2 innings.

Collins Cruises to Shutout

Fargo-Moorhead dropped a 2-0 shutout to Joe Collins and the Cleburne Railroaders at The Depot at Cleburne Station today. The RedHawks offered little resistance to Collins, who stopped them on 2 hits, fanned 4 and walked 0.
"It just felt right today," the right-handed Collins told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm."
To date this season, Collins has registered 18 starts, 10-6 won-lost mark, 2.24 ERA, 140.2 IP, 84 strikeouts and 31 walks. Opposing teams have hit .204 against him.
