Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Friday, August 26th , 2039 If there wasn't a history between Danny Madera of Philadelphia and Brad Lachance of St. Louis, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 9 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Madera said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Madera has collected 108 hits for the Phillies this year, 31 of them home runs. He has also netted 76 RBIs and scored 68 runs while batting .247. Lachance's record so far this season is 1-and-0 with no saves and a 2.16 ERA. He has given up 32 hits in 41.2 innings with 39 strikeouts. |
