3-HR Game for Leyva
Wednesday, August 17th , 2039
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Manny Leyva can celebrate.

The Nashville Outlaws first baseman powered three into the stands at HCA Park today against the Houston Astros.

"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Leyva told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."

In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Outlaws toppled Houston by a score of 9-8, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times.

"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Nashville manager Logan Brumley said. "He gets the ball up in the air."

Manny Leyva hit a solo-shot off Pat Reeves in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Pat Reeves in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Mike Simpkins in the 7th.

In the current season, Leyva has put up a .333 batting average with 142 hits, 23 home runs, 65 runs batted in and scored 65 runs.
