Calloway Batters Seattle Big Time Tuesday, August 2nd , 2039 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Mike Calloway, it came around today. The 26-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Guaranteed Rate Field to pace the Chicago White Sox to a 13-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners. Seattle skipper John Foley told reporters in the press room that "Calloway deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Calloway hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Mike Calloway hit a solo-shot off Juan Gutierrez in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Josh O'Neal in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Chris Branson in the 7th.
